Discover CBD: Facts, FAQs, and more

The world of CBD is as complicated as it is exciting. It can be tough to figure out where to start learning or which products are right for you.

Whether you’re just starting on your wellness journey, or you’re looking to branch out and take the next step, we’ll help you put your best foot forward.

What is CBD? What is THC?  Both CBD and THC are chemical compounds naturally found in cannabis plants. These compounds are collectively called “phytocannabinoids,” “phyto-” meaning “plant.” Cannabis plants contain over 100 different compounds, but CBD and THC are the most prominent ones.

THC is the psychoactive compound in cannabis. CBD contains very low THC (0.3% or less) and does not cause euphoria.

CBD has been used for centuries to treat nausea, depression, anorexia, and more.

What is Hemp? What is Marijuana? Hemp is the male cannabis species. In hemp plants, CBD is the dominant compound, while THC presence is minimal. Hemp is used in foods, dietary supplements, skin products, clothing, and paper. Products made from hemp plants are legal because their THC levels fall within the 0.3% threshold.

Marijuana is the female cannabis species. In marijuana plants, THC is the dominant compound (more than 20%), while CBD presence is minimal.  According to the law, products made from marijuana plants are illegal (that is, in states where recreational marijuana use is illegal), because they contain THC levels above the legal threshold of 0.3%.
